Christie - I too think it is a nice subtle effect. If you don't like it, just layer more color on with a different technique. I do agree that it takes a lot of space and time for this. Darker colors do give a more pronounced look to the crackling.

Kaz - I am not getting any of the new messages for the last two days. They used to be highlighted but now they aren't. Not sure why. I tried to find a reason in my settings but couldn't work it out. I am now going to new posts to find any new messages.

Now that I said that, the blue markers are back but the post doesn't seem to pop back up to the top.
