I have incorporated my clay sculptural work, some welded structures (the two wall flower people have clay hands, leaves, and heads, welded structure with wet felted fibers and silk sewn onto the structures).
The one in the center of the room is a welded structure... draped with nuno felted and wet felted fibers and silk. This piece is very large with the midsection being larger then 7 ft wide. Since there are 8 sides, I needed to created 8 panels of everything.
The wall work, circles and ovals are all very large. The large "Tree" which is almost bean like is over 6 feet tall, the figures are nearly 7 feet tall, the large wall ovals are 5 feet tall. I worked on this work nearly full time for the last 4 months.

Late that night the fox bag was born. Another cool thing I found out about while at the festival is Fiber Mills. Well I sent all that wool I bought from the ladies at “Dyed in the Wool” out to a Fiber Mill called Ohio Valley Natural Fibers Ohio Valley Natural Fibers They are going to turn all that lovely wool into batts for me so it is easier to work with when I make them into bags. So excited to get it back from them!!!

I spent a lot of money but I am fulled stocked and ready for a long summer of felting. Which is good because I have the fall and craft fair season coming up!

I live in NSW Australia, high in the ranges on 25 acres. I only have 5 breeding cows now but have owned coloured sheep in the past, shearing them myself so the fleece stayed intact.

I discovered felting at my local Hand Spinners and Weavers group in Bathust. Many members are excellent felters and happily share their skills and examples at our workshops. I have learned wet and needle felting and nuno as well. I experiment at home and love the rewards at the completion of the work.

I am looking forward to reading all about your journies in felting and hope to learn to make a jacket or two with some batts I purchased recently

I feel proud for her as I thought I am not so skillfull on hand crafting, but with needle felting started feeling more confident! :)

I have never ever made a craft in my life & have been always shy & not confident on my ability to do it.
Until....I saw needle felting animal pictures in a FB wall! That was it! When I saw that the procedure for a simple form is not that difficult! I said...Why not? Let's give it a try!
So, I read & read & read via internet on theory & watching photos for the technique + loads of youtube videos! I also submitted attendance on an on line lesson!

I ordered my stuff via internet but, by the time they arrive, I made an experiment with some cheap & simple staff I bought from a local shop!

Will show you my first creation soon!
