I am new to needle felting and am having a blast. I was going through my closet and these little bags of fibers started falling on me, including tussah silk sliver, cashmere, mohair, llama, camel etc. I remembered a few years ago I bought a big box of old craft supplies and this sample pack of fibers was in it. At the time I had no idea what to do with them so in the closet they went. There is 1/2 to 3/4 oz. of each. My question is can I needle felt any or all of them? Should I mix with wool or use for special thinks like hair etc? Since this is the only cashmere I will ever own in any form I was kind of excited, so I want to know I am using it right. Any comments would be welcome, and thank you Kay for your shop and kind welcome to the felting world! My love is in needle felting, mainly little amiguri-like replicas and stuff that probably seem fitting of a 10 year old's imagination! But who doesn't like cute? :p My lovelies aren't as awe-inspiring as some on this site, but heck, I do try!

I'm looking forward to picking up hints and tips from all you wonderful people here!

I took up needle felting a few months ago, and I LOVE my new hobby. My one problem is that I don't know QUITE what to do with my projects. I keep handing them off to people.
"I have no use for it, I just like to make it. You like it? Great! It's yours. Name it and take it home" (I like to hear what names they come up with for the different creatures)
Trying to pawn off a creature on a friend the other day it raised the question of curiosity for you all.
What do YOU do with your made creatures??

So today I went to my local craft store, bought the biggest piece of foam board I could went home and carved a dress shaped resist out of it then made myself a dress. Now as first tries go this went pretty well. I gotta add a zipper in the back so that I can get in and out of it. Anyone know of a way I can make the felt stretchy so that I don't have to add a zipper or buttons in the back? It is 19 micron white merino wool with mulberry silk scattered on it and a white china silk tie nuno felted at the waist. I think it is either a size 4 or 6. If anyone has any tips on wet felting dresses let me know!

Also, I have lots of trouble with my felt edges. I can't make neat edges, they tend to stretch in different places and I end up with a scalloped sort of edge, or wavy or not straight. Any tips?
