Hello everyone
You can draw wool off a drumcarder with a diz or even by hand.
After I was given 5 freshly sheared fleeces, a gallon or so of dish soap, and lots of careful washing and rinsing and spinning out the excess in the washing machine, I ran it all through my Ashford Drumcarder and was left with clouds of wool in batts that seem to get bigger every time I touch them! The wool came from Blackfaced Suffolk, Texal cross, and Corriedale. I feel the need for a picker now because the carder leaves a fair amount of plant material behind and I know I will have more wool coming my way the next time shearing happens.
All three types of wool I mentioned needle felt like a dream and dye beautifully too.

It may be worth asking at a local craft centre, college, adult education place etc if you could borrow a drum carder if they have one.
