Rainbow wool/Multicolour wool
I was just wondering if anyone has made anything using the wool with lots of different colours in it? I think it's called Rainbow roving. There are lots of different coloured lengths in it & sometimes silk is added.
If so, what did you make & how did it turn out?
What is the best way to use this wool? Do you pull off a bit of the colour you want to use or do you just pull of anything & just felt it?
I'm confused with this wool!

You could make clothing out of it for your characters, felt a flat piece and make it into a jacket or needle it straight on to the body. you could use it for hair, tails ect anything really its just a matter of having fun with it and experimenting

Thanks for the ideas Kaz. I bought some yonks ago & used it to make a tiny weeny dragon, but couldn't see the effects of it....probably because the dragon was too small. The wool is a gorgeous raspberry colour with reds & pinks & has silk through it. I will try something bigger next time to see if I can see the effects of the colour blends. x

I bought some merino roving in a rainbow of pinks and reds. I use it by pulling off small tufts for shading and lip color. It's lasted me forever. I had some lovely mohair roving that has the rainbow effect - it makes great hair.

To be honest Kay, I thought that the rainbow/multicolour roving could only be used for dreadlocks/hair. Unfortunately, I don't make sculptures that require hair..lol

I just checked out your site and your critters are so adorable and so teeny
you could just incorporate a little of the multicolor for things like wings and halo's, head dresses ( for the girl critters) lol
have a look at Kasey's site, she uses so many different colors.
