    Cool Introduction and question...

Hello all. It was wonderful to find this forum, as there seems to be so many tutorials and threads to read and learn all I can about felting! My name is Kim - I live in Hendersonville, NC (near Asheville). I am very happily married and have 3 sons and 3 grandsons. We also have a small herd of alpacas. God has really blessed us!

I love the fiber arts, although I am just starting to really "get my feet wet!" I am going through my fiber, skirting, washing and grading, and have some black seconds and thirds from 2 very different animals - one 2-year-old male and one a 13-year-old female. These fibers are very different in that one is quite course and the other is very fine and silky. The question is, can I mix these fibers for wet felting?

    thanks in advance!

Hello Kim and welcome to the forum.

You can mix fibres when wet felting. Some fibres felt faster than others, so to give them all a chance to felt together, use warm water rather than hot to start with.
The best thing to do is to make small sample pieces to see how the fibres react together.
