    older drum carder belt

A friend just gave me her older Ashford Drum carder because the belt was broken and they don't make this particular model any more. I just wanted it to do some blending, which I'm told that this is all this model was good for. Anybody out there have any suggestions? Anybody?

    Thanks, Una

Have you contacted Ashford, They may still have the belts even if they don't make the carder anymore. Otherwise you could make yourself a leather belt for it.

Thanks, I have written/e-mailed to Ashford but no response yet. I have rigged up a leather thong belt, but I'll have to find something stiffer because what I'm using is too stretchy and I know It'll work better if it's stiffer! sorry, it must be later than I think!

What about a big O-ring? I have a couple that are used on my tumbler lid so I know they make 'em. Try one of the big hardware chains?

Thanks, a spinner friend helped me tie up just a piece of string and the tension is pretty good. The leather piece I tried was too bulky. The string seems to be adequate for now. Una
